Egan King
Egan King is a composer based in the United Kingdom. He has composed for various mediums including: national and international TV commercials, Spotify podcasts, documentaries, aerial dance and short films.
Growing up in the cultural hot-pot of Johannesburg South Africa, Egan was introduced to a wide variety of musical styles and traditions. This led him to obtaining a Bmus at the University of the Witwatersrand where he studied under some of South Africa's top musicians including Carlo Mombelli, Andile Khumalo, and Jonathan Crossley.
As an accomplished drummer and vocalist, coupled with a major in composition during his university years, Egan has blended his interests and skills into a unique sonic palette. Singing in traditional South African choirs, a stint in a popular Johannesburg punk rock band, to commissioned orchestral works, Egan blends his many musical backgrounds into his work believing that there is no limit when it comes to musical creativity. At the core of Egan's music is an attempt to pull beauty and emotion through the medium of music. This has spurred his journey towards a dynamic and upcoming force in the world of media composition.
